KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — The Supply Bill 2025 (Budget 2025) was tabled for the first reading in the Dewan Rakyat today.
The bill was read by the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Legal and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, who represented Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.
"Tuan Yang DiPertua, I would like to apologise for the unavoidable health factor, which is the inflammation of the oesophagus (Amir is currently experiencing). I would like to submit the Supply Bill 2025," she said.
Azalina said the bill will be tabled for the second reading at 4pm on Friday (October 18) by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is also the Finance Minister.
The bill seeks to allocate funds from the consolidated fund for services for the year 2025.
Based on the Dewan Rakyat calendar, MPs are scheduled to debate the Supply Bill 2025 at the policy level from October 21 to November 5 and at the committee level from November 13 to December 3.
