Madani Rakyat 2024 meets targets, draws public support

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — The 2024 Madani Rakyat 2024 programme has successfully met the goals and objectives set by the government, said Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa.

He noted that since its launch in February, the programme has consistently received an overwhelming response from the public, who are eager to learn about the government’s initiatives and progress.

“It achieved the set goals and objectives with the attendance of more than 200,000 people at each Madani Rakyat event, which is exactly what we hoped for.

“Through the Madani Rakyat programme, the public gets a direct explanation from government agencies about various initiatives, not through middlemen or third parties,” he said when appearing as a guest on the Bernama TV “Apa Khabar Malaysia” programme today.

Meanwhile, he said the Sayangi Sabah Madani Rakyat 2024 programme is the sixth and final zone for this year, following events held in the Central Zone (Selangor), Northern Zone (Penang), Eastern Zone (Pahang), Southern Zone (Johor), and the Sarawak Zone.

Mohamad Fauzi said the implementation of the programme in Sabah involved a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) as the lead ministry, as well as the Sabah government and the Performance Leap Coordination Unit (PACU) of the Prime Minister's Department (JPM).

He said eight key programmes are provided, including People's Well-being by the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of JPM, Unity Agenda (Ministry of National Unity), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Career Carnival (Ministry of Human Resources) and State Government Services (Sabah government) ).

Others are Agriculture and Food Security (Agriculture and Food Security Ministry), Health Services (Health Ministry) and science, technology, engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) programmes (Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mosti), Education Ministry (MOE) and the Higher Education Ministry (KPT), he said.

The Madani Rakyat 2024 Sayangi Sabah programme with the theme of ‘Improving Consumer Well-being’ will be held for three days starting this Friday (October 18) at the compound of the Likas Sports Complex.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to open it on October 19.
