KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 — Football fans will have the chance to see the Asean Championship 2024 trophy up close as the trophy tour continues its journey to Shah Alam on Saturday.

The exhibition features three former national players who played pivotal roles in Malaysia’s 2010 championship victory: Norshahrul Idlan Talaha, Mahali Jasuli and Amri Yahya.

The event is scheduled to take place at AEON Shah Alam from 11am to 5pm.

“Entry to this event, which offers a range of special experiences, is free. Attendees can win meet-and-greet passes through the Asean United FC website and its social media platform @‌aseanutdfc,” the Asean Football Federation, the tournament organisers, said in a statement.

The tournament will kick off with two qualifying rounds today and on October 15, featuring Brunei and Timor-Leste, with the winner advancing to the group stage set to begin on December 8.

Malaysia has been drawn in Group A alongside defending champions Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore and the winner of the Brunei v Timor-Leste tie. Group B consists of Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar and Laos.
