PUTRAJAYA, Oct 4 — Class B1 and B2 Malaysian Driving Licence (LMM) holders who are eligible to participate in the Special LMM Transition Programme to class B (high-powered motorcycles), can begin registering for the programme at 139 driving institutes nationwide, said Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli.
In a statement today, Aedy said the latest data as of yesterday indicated 3.33 million out of 9.32 million holders of LMM class B1 and B2 are eligible to register for the program.
“The list of driving institutes offering this programme can be accessed by scanning the QR code available on JPJ’s official Facebook page, and this list will be updated from time to time,” he said.
Among the driving institutes offering the programme are Metro Driving Academy Sdn Bhd in Shah Alam; Ilmu Baru Sdn Bhd in Alor Setar, Kedah; Pusat Latihan Memandu Gabungan Usahamaju Sdn Bhd in Seberang Perai, Penang; Institut Memandu Litar Sistem Adilkap Sdn Bhd in Ipoh, Perak; Sipitang Sdn Bhd in Sipitang, Sabah; and Akademi Memandu EG Sdn Bhd in Miri, Sarawak.
Earlier, during a press conference on the Special Vehicle Operation in Kajang, Aedy advised the public to check and settle any outstanding summonses before joining the programme, even though the eligibility criteria for applying for the transition programme had been relaxed.
On August 2, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced the special transition programme for B1 and B2 class licence holders to obtain a class B (high-powered motorcycle) licence would start October 1.
