YANGON, Sept 25 — The European Union (EU) has allocated up to €1.2 million (RM5.5 million) in humanitarian aid to assist people severely impacted by Typhoon Yagi in Myanmar, the state-run daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported today, according to Xinhua.
The EU has provided €2.2 million (RM10.1 million) in humanitarian aid to support people affected across several Southeast Asian countries.
Of the total, up to €1.2 million will be for Myanmar's humanitarian responses, €650,000 (RM3million) for Vietnam, €200,000 for the Philippines (RM924,452), and €150,000 (RM693,256) for Laos.
In Myanmar, 419 people have died in flood-related incidents as of yesterday morning, official data showed.
