PHNOM PENH, Sept 20 — Cambodia's National Assembly has approved a minor reshuffle of Prime Minister Hun Manet's Cabinet today, with two ministers swapping their portfolios, reported Xinhua.
At Hun Manet's request, the National Assembly approved the appointments of Minister of Tourism Sok Soken as the minister of inspection and Minister of Inspection Huot Hak as the minister of tourism.
A total of 106 lawmakers in attendance, including Hun Manet, unanimously voted in confidence in the two ministers. National Assembly President Khuon Sudary announced the result of the vote.
Speaking before the voting session, Hun Manet said the minor reshuffle was made in response to "the fundamental need for promoting more efficient implementation of the political programmes of the government in the seventh legislature of the National Assembly and the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I".
The Hun Manet-led Cabinet was formed on August 22, 2023, for a five-year term.
