KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasised the need for every ministry to make solid and comprehensive preparations, with a few months left before Malaysia takes over the Asean chair from Laos.
In a Facebook post, he said Malaysia must be a great leader by formulating various programmes that would profoundly impact the Asean community.
Earlier, he chaired the National Steering Committee meeting for the 2025 Asean-Malaysia Chairmanship in Putrajaya.
Laos will hand over the chair at the Asean Summit, to be held from October 8 to 11.
Malaysia previously held the Asean chair in 1977, 1997, 2005 and 2015.
