IPOH, Sept 13 — RM96.7 million in book vouchers for Level Two primary and secondary school students, as well as those in higher education institutions, has been redeemed as of today, said Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh.
The government has allocated RM284 million for book vouchers, which can be redeemed through the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia (DELIMa) and Kota Buku Digital platforms.
“The implementation (of book vouchers) is progressing at a very fast (redemption) process since it began in May.
“I have sought the cooperation of all schools to remind their pupils and students to redeem their book vouchers before the December 31 deadline. We aim to achieve 100 per cent redemption in the coming months,” he told the press after officiating the National Union of Headmasters Conference today.
On May 30, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced RM50 and RM100 book vouchers for students, including those in Year Four and above, secondary school students, and students of higher learning institutions and teacher training institutes.
