KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 — The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) has found that a hole in drainage caused erosion that saw a ground floor corridor behind a unit in Flat PKNS Taman Keramat Permai settle by almost 2m.
In a statement, MPAJ said the finding was made after a visit by its Engineering, Building and Architecture Department team and Commissioner of Building to the location yesterday.
MPAJ said several other damages were also identified, and said it will carry out repairs to ensure the safety of residents, set to be done within two weeks.
“The work to be carried out involves repairing the drainage and (clearing) sedimentation as well as repairing the floor structure,” read the statement.
On Tuesday, Bernama reported that over 2,000 residents at the flat were gravely worried about soil settlement issues in the area.
