KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 — Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) media and strategic communications director Rozaid Abdul Rahman died at 7pm tonight at his home in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, near here.
The former Sinar Harian group chief editor’s death was confirmed by the PMO.
Rozaid, 59, received treatment at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital, Serdang, in early July and was believed to have been recuperating at home.
The late Rozaid had extensive experience in journalism, with his career having begun as a cadet reporter with Utusan Malaysia in April 1984.
The veteran journalist then served as group executive editor at The Star and was press secretary to Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin when he was higher education minister.
He joined Sinar Harian on January 4, 2021, until December 30, 2022.
Rozaid was appointed to the PMO on May 23, 2023.
