KUCHING, Aug 16 — The basketball courts at the 2024 Malaysia Games (Sukma) witnessed thrilling action as both Selangor's men’s and women’s teams secured victories on the second day of competition.
In the matches played at the Kuching South City Council Stadium, the Selangor women's team cruised to an easy 80-41 win over the Federal Territories (FT).
Negeri Sembilan’s women’s squad also impressed, dismantling Sabah 88-48, while the home team, Sarawak, managed a hard-fought 65-58 victory against Melaka.
In the men’s division, Group A saw Selangor edge out defending champions Negeri Sembilan with a narrow 71-68 win, while Melaka downed Penang 96-81.
Group B action saw Johor cruising to a 79-49 win over FT, marking their strong start to the competition.
The basketball competition will run until August 24.
