Tropical Storm Debby: Malaysians in affected areas urged to stay vigilant

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 5 — The Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) via its Consulate-General in Los Angeles, the United States, is diligently monitoring the movements of Tropical Storm Debby.

The current Category One hurricane is expected to make landfall in Big Bend, Florida, around midday Monday (August 6 in Malaysia).

The hurricane is expected to continue to move eastward to the coastal regions of Georgia and South Carolina.

“We urge Malaysians in the affected areas to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines issued by local authorities.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to closely monitor these developments throughout the hurricane season and provide updates when necessary,” Wisma Putra said in a statement today.
