SHAH ALAM, July 12 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj has extended his condolences to the family of Raja Datin Paduka Fuziah Raja Tun Uda, a key figure in Malaysia's arts and crafts scene, who died yesterday night.
Also conveying her condolences was the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.
According to a post on the Selangor Royal Office’s Facebook page, Raja Fuziah, the daughter of the late Raja Tun Uda Raja Muhammad, the fourth Menteri Besar of Selangor, was a prominent figure in the local arts and crafts industry.
She was a member of the Board of Trustees for both the National Art Gallery and the National Library.
“In recognition of her services and dedication, the Sultan of Selangor conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Dato’ Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah award on Raja Fuziah in 2006.
“Their Royal Highnesses express hope that her family will remain patient and resilient in the face of this loss and pray that her soul be blessed and placed among the righteous,” read the post.
Raja Fuziah, 84, passed away at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur yesterday and was laid to rest today at the Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum.
