SHAH ALAM, May 31 — Incumbent Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim has been appointed as Shah Alam's Mayor, effective next Tuesday (June 4).
During the Subang Jaya City Council's (MBSJ) monthly full meeting yesterday, he said it would be the last time he would chair it, extending his apologies and thanks to the council's personnel for their contributions and cooperation.
“Thank you and my apologies to all MBSJ staff for the cooperation and full commitment given throughout my service. The memories at MBSJ will always be cherished,” Fauzi said.
Meanwhile, he also invited primary and secondary school students to join the MBSJ 2024 Heritage Choir and Cultural Dance Workshop (Bengkel Koir dan Tarian Kebudayaan Warisan).
The workshop, in collaboration with the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (Padat) and Dellyn Studio, will be held at the 3K Complex in SS13.
It will be conducted in two sessions: from June 26 to June 27, and from July 16 to July 17, with a RM10 participation fee.
“This workshop aims to provide basic exposure to Malaysia’s rich heritage of unique and interesting arts.
“Through it, participants will be introduced to the basic movements of one of Selangor’s cultural dances, the Tarian Piring. They will also be exposed to proper choir vocal and singing techniques,” he said.
Those interested may contact the workshop's coordinators at 017-340 7651 (Mohd Marsidi) or 016-777 2446 (Shammir Horace).
