SHAH ALAM, JAN 29 — Some 116 Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) assessment rate taxpayers won lucky draws through the 'Jom Bayar Cukai Taksiran MPAJ' 2023 campaign worth over RM300,000.
The council said 45,721 accounts were selected to participate in the monthly lucky draw, while 3,740 accounts were included in the lucky draw for the main prizes, involving over RM44 million in total collection for the second term, from September to December 2023.
"A total of 116 prizes, with a combined value of over RM300,000, were offered, consisting of various prizes like a Stonbike Electric Mountain Bike, Lenovo laptops, and Garmin watches, including four grand prizes, namely the Honda Vario Motorcycle.
"The prize presentation ceremony was held at the MPAJ Convention Centre on Saturday (January 27) to celebrate the winners," it said in a statement.
During the event, 50 assessment taxpayers were acknowledged for their good records and commitment to settling assessment tax payments on time from 1992 to 2023 without any failures.
"5,517 account owners were identified as good taxpayers. Of this number, 50 lucky owners were selected to receive prizes and certificates of appreciation through the lucky draw system.
"Among the prizes presented as gestures of appreciation include the iPad Pro 128GB, a Foldable Electric Bicycle, and .999 fine gold pieces," MPAJ said.
The lucky draw for the tax paying campaign will continue this year as a sign of appreciation to taxpayers who are committed to settling their respective assessment taxes.
"Among the exciting prizes awaiting winners are four Yamaha motorcycles for the grand prizes, and monthly prizes like a 65-inch Television (Smart TV), a refrigerator, a washing machine, and an air purifier.
"The lucky draw for monthly prize winners will be conducted from March to June for the first term of 2024 and from September to December for the second term of 2024, while the draw for grand prize winners will be held at the end of the first and second terms," it said.
