SHAH ALAM, Jan 27 — Kota Anggerik assemblyman Mohd Najwan Halimi is allocating RM70,000 to organise three health carnivals in the constituency this year, providing residents free health screenings.

He said the first carnival, which took place at Dewan Jenjarum, Seksyen 11 here today, is projected to benefit some 15,000 individuals, including those aged 40 and above who are looking to get basic medical checkup.

Najwan said mammogram tests and cervical cancer screenings were also offered to women aged 30 and above, in addition to free eye examinations and an opportunity to obtain affordable eyeglasses.

"I plan to also hold the carnival in Bukit Subang and Denai Alam, based on the locality and demography, apart from the fact that there are many B40 individuals in the locations," he said when met today.

Meanwhile, Najwan said his office actively promotes the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang initiative to those who attend the carnival to provide them with better exposure on the state government's welfare programmes.

Attendees were also given a detailed explanation on the Federal government's Central Database Hub (Padu) initiative.

Separately, Najwan said his office also distributed School Entry Assistance Programme (PBMS) aid to Tabung Warisan Anak Selangor (Tawas) members who are entering Standard One this year.
