Taman Eko Rimba set to reopen on February 1

SHAH ALAM, Jan 25 — Taman Eko Rimba (TER), along with its climbing activities is scheduled to reopen to the public on February 1.

The reopening encompasses six TER locations: Sungai Tua, Sungai Sendat, Sungai Tekala, Komanwel, Kota Damansara, and Gunung Nuang.

In a Facebook post by the Selangor Forestry Department, its director Azhar Ahmad issued instructions which specify that climbing trails span three districts: Hutan Hulu Selangor, Hutan Pantai Klang, and Hutan Selangor Tengah.

"The reopening of Taman Eko Rimba and climbing activities under the management of the Selangor State Forestry Department will commence on February 1, 2024.

“For more information, refer to the post, and any inquiries can be directed to the JPNS headquarters at 03-55447507," it said.

The closure notice for hiking trails and recreational activities in Selangor’s permanent forest reserves is effective from November 1, 2023, until January 31, 2024.

Th precautionary measure was in response to the Malaysian Meteorological Department's forecast of continuous heavy rain from November last year to March this year, posing a significant flood risk at the end of that month.
