SHAH ALAM, Aug 25 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has become the first local authority in the country to develop a mobile app to facilitate road inspections, repairs and maintenance.
Its mayor Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid said the PavementAI app was developed with the cooperation of Urban Explorer Sdn Bhd, and is currently in its pilot phase. It is set to facilitate the monitoring of damaged roads in the city.
“We aim to provide a more efficient service and to respond to all public complaints and feedback about potholes.
“The usage of this app will ensure road issues are resolved faster and more efficiently,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Nor Fuad said PavementAI will, among others, retrieve complaints by the public on other platforms like the Public Complaints Management System (Sispaa).
It will also provide detailed locations of damaged roads for swift action.
Earlier, Nor Fuad and Urban Explorer chief executive officer Ahmad Fuad Hamzah inked a memorandum of understanding on the development of the app.
“MBSA and Urban Explorer provide our continuous commitment to ensure effective monitoring of potholes through the establishment of comprehensive road network data.
“This is in line with MBSA’s plan to make Shah Alam a smart city,” Nor Fuad said.
