Over 4,000 benefit from MyLesen B2 drive — MOT

KUALA TERENGGANU, Aug 8 — As many as 4,195 recipients have benefited from the MyLesen B2 programme from May to August 4, said Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah.

He said the recipients were from nine states — Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Perlis and Sabah.

He said for this year, 9,000 people, comprising those from the B40 group, those with disabilities, asnaf, and Rahmah Cash Aid and e-kasih recipients, are targeted to benefit from the programme.

“We have quotas based on certain criteria for each state. For example, in Kedah, Penang and Kelantan, we have quotas for 900 beneficiaries in each, and in Pahang and Kuala Lumpur it is 500 people in each state.

“For the remaining recipients in Perak, Sarawak, Melaka and Johor, we will roll out the programme by the end of the year,” he told a press conference after the launch of the state-level MyLesen B2 programme here today.

At the event, Hasbi presented 300 helmets sponsored by Malaysia Rail Link to B2 licence recipients under the programme in Terengganu.

Hasbi said the government allocated RM2.7 million this year to help people in low-income groups obtain motorcycle licences to help them earn a living.

He said 3,900 applications for the MyLesen B2 programme were been received in Terengganu.
