Higher Undi18 turnout expected at state polls — Adam Adli

GEORGE TOWN, Aug 6 — More Undi18 voters are expected to participate in the state elections as they now have balloting experience after the general election (GE), said Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim.

Adam Adli hopes their turnout will highlight their representation in a respectable mandate for state governments that will be established after the August 12 polls.

“The GE has given them realisation (on the importance of voting),” he told the media after the launch of the Fit Malaysia Programme at Padang Kota Lama here today.

He said the voters understand their responsibilities and are confident in their decisions about the country and society’s needs.

Undi18 refers to those aged 18 to 20 who were allowed to vote after the voting age was lowered from 21 to 18 in 2021.
