SHAH ALAM, July 19 — The Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj has called upon all Muslims to renew their resolve in changing their thoughts for the better, in his Maal Hijrah 1445/2023 special address.
In a Facebook post by the Selangor Royal Office, His Royal Highness said Muslims ought to drive themselves forward with the intent of achieving excellence in their lives.
"Sultan Sharafuddin also advised that unity among the ummah should continue to be strengthened, and avoiding that which can bring about detriment like lying, treachery, and spreading false news, all of which are the characteristics of hypocrites.
"His Royal Highness hopes the Maal Hijrah celebration this year can be lived with full awareness and understanding of how important it is to appreciate Islam's pure values, which should be translated into every facet of life," it said.
The Selangor Royal Office concluded with a Qu'ranic verse, stating that whoever emigrates in the cause of Allah will find many safe havens and bountiful resources throughout the earth.
"His Royal Highness Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and Her Royal Highness the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin wish all Muslims a happy Maal Hijrah 1445/2023 in Selangor and Malaysia, in general," it said.
