SHAH ALAM, June 2 – The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) has collected RM39.1 million in assessment tax from January to April 30, an increase of 0.46 per cent compared to the same period last year.
According to MPAJ President Ani Ahmad, this marks an increase by RM180,000.
She said the council aims to collect a total of RM87.5 million in assessment taxes this year, which was decided by the local authority’s annual budget.
“MPAJ has also successfully collected RM6.9 million in outstanding assessment taxes for the same period (January to April) this year.
“However, this represents a decrease of RM5.95 million, or 46.09 per cent, compared to the previous year,’’ Ani said during the monthly full council meeting at MPAJ Tower yesterday.
She added the target for outstanding tax collection throughout 2023 is RM17 million, with a total of 129,009 bills issued for the first term.
