SHAH ALAM, Feb 27 — More than 500 visitors took part in the the Klang Car-Free Day programme organised by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK), at Padang Laman Seni Safari yesterday.

Council President Noraini Roslan said the event, jointly organised with Klang District Health Office, was themed 'Klang Sihat dan Sejahtera, Ke arah Bandar Raya Idaman' (Healthy and Prosperous Klang, towards the Dream City).

"This is the first programme for 2023, and will continue in the following months as it was for 2022.

"For today, we also held 'Fun Walk' activity to foster healthy lifestyles that benefits both one's wellness and societal unity, as well as to instil the culture of active living through walking activities," she said in a statement.

Starting at 7.30am, Klang Car-Free Day featured a variety of activities including health screenings, dengue exhibitions, and a competition to design Klang's heritage buildings using recycled materials.

Other events include a zero-plastic poster drawing competition, a Klang heritage building themed collage (patchwork) drawing competition based on used plastic materials, and a Zero Waste Selfie collection competition.
