Upgrade plans for Bukit Kembara to become new tourist attraction — Exco

SHAH ALAM, Feb 27 — Bukit Kembara in Ampang, a favourite haunt of cross-forest and climbing enthusiasts, has the potential to be developed into a new tourist spot, said Rodziah Ismail.

The Ampang MP said discussions on plans to develop and upgrade the locality will be held in the near future.

"Some of the residents living in the surrounding area have provided us with their views, one of which is the request for requested Bukit Kembara to be gazetted as a place for public recreation.

"Bukit Kembara's potential is high, so to this we will formulate a strategic plan for discussion, which will a suitable space to be used as a focus for public tourism," she said.

Rodziah, the state councillor for housing, urban welfare and entrepreneur development, also took time to survey the area around Bukit Kembara and Kolam Taman TAR in Ampang yesterday.

She was accompanied by Selangor Water Management Board (Luas) Director Hasrolnizam Shaari, Ampang Jaya Municipal Council's (MPAJ) Department of Youth, Community and Landscape Director Khairilazhar Ismail, and representatives of the Forestry Department.
