Training aircraft made forced landing in Jasin, no casualties reported — CAAM

PUTRAJAYA, Feb 14 — A training aircraft operated by Malaysian Flying Academy (MFA) made a forced landing near a factory in Jasin, Melaka today, believed due to a mechanical malfunction.

In a statement confirming the incident, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) chief executive officer Captain Norazman Mahmud said there were an instructor and a student onboard during the incident.

“No casualties were reported,” he said.

Norazman said the Piper PA-28-181, 9MSKJ aircraft requested the air traffic control tower for a priority landing at Melaka International Airport but made a forced landing near Xinyi Energy Smart Factory in Jasin at 11.05am.

The safety investigation will be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau under the Transport Ministry in accordance with Part XXVI Civil Aviation Regulations 2016, he added.
