KLANG, Dec 29 — Crime cases in North Klang remain under control, with only 14 cases reported since last January, the majority of which involved violence, said its district police chief.

According to ACP S. Vijaya Rao, the authorities are always improving security control programmes and educating the public on the importance of preventing crime.

"Violent crimes include (public) fighting, injuring and rioting, while property crimes include housebreaking, looting, and theft of metals from construction sites.

"Overall, crime in North Klang is still under control and we will improve our various crime awareness programmes next year," he said.

Vijaya Rao was speaking at the officiation of the Safety, Health and Environment Week organised by Etika Dairies Sdn Bhd in Meru, Klang, which was also attended by its state assemblyman Mohd Fakhrulrazi Mohd Mokhtar.

He added the success in reducing North Klang's crime rate is the result of cooperation between the police and the public.
