SHAH ALAM, Nov 28 — Hulu Selangor is expected to be hit with thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds until 1am today, says the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a warning issued at 9pm on Facebook, the agency said the inclement weather is also expected to occur in Kedah (Baling), Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), and Pahang (Raub, Bentong and Temerloh).
MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 milliliters that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding an hour for a single release.
