SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 — Permatang state assemblyman Rozana Zainal Abidin has praised the 2023 Selangor Budget for its concern over women, including single mothers.

She expressed interest in the implementation of the Young Insentif Digital Media Usahanita Muda programme, which can help women to explore the field of business.

"I hope many women take this opportunity and delve into digital media, in line with the government's desire to move towards Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0).

"In fact, the matching grant for women empowerment via the Halal Suri programme has also greatly helped them increase their incomes, thus improving their families' economic position," Rozana said when contacted.

She added the state government's initiative to provide special quota incentives for the ownership of affordable homes like Rumah Selangorku for single mothers is also a positive sign.

"This is indicative of the state government's desire to ensure all eligible single mothers have a comfortable place to live in the future, and are not marginalised," Rozana said.

The budget was tabled on Friday (November 26) by Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari, with the theme '#KitaSelangor: Boosting Progress, Strengthening Unity, Fulfilling Hope'.

He said a total of RM2.45 billion has been set aside to prepare for next year's economic slowdown.
