PETALING JAYA, Nov 23 — The 2023 Selangor budget that is scheduled to be tabled on Friday (November 25) will focus on strategies to face the incoming economic recession.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the economic situation is expected to be challenging next year due to the food supply crisis, political instability, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that several other aspects involving youths, women and economic activities are also given attention.
“Before this, we introduced a trial period. However, in this budget, we will make sure Selangor is not only a trial but can ride the economic wave.
“We want to strengthen and empower Selangor while maintaining the state’s compassionate nature,” he said at the press conference of the Selangor Masters Golf Tournament at Seri Selangor Golf Club, here yesterday.
The Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting, which was previously postponed, will commence today and to include the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget on Friday.
The budget will be broadcasted live on SelangorTV and Media Selangor Facebook page, tabled by the Menteri Besar at 3pm.

Previously, the state government invited the members of the public to participate in a public survey to share suggestions in drafting the 2023 Selangor Budget to make the budget more inclusive and beneficial for all parties.
