SHAH ALAM, Nov 7 — The entire state will see heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms late in the night until early tomorrow morning, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)
In a statement issued at 10.50pm, the agency said other states and territories which will also see inclement weather include Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, and Melaka.
"Langkawi in Kedah, Tangkak and Muar in Johor, Perak (Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), and Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh and Bera) will be similarly affected.
"In East Malaysia, Sarawak's affected areas include Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Kapit) and Tatau in Bintulu," it said.
The weather is expected to persist until 1am, Tuesday, November 8.
MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
