SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 — The Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in three Selangor districts until 9pm today.
In a statement issued at 4.50pm today, MetMalaysia said that a similar weather condition will also be experienced in Kuala Lumpur, and seven other states, which includes Perak (Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Bera and Rompin), Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor.
East Malaysia will also experience a wet weather, namely in Miri (Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang in Sarawak and Pedalaman (Sipitang and Nabawan), Pantai Barat (Kota Belud), Sandakan (Tongod) and Kudat (Kota Marudu and Kudat) in Sabah.
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour or expected to take place for over an hour.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” the statement read.
