SHAH ALAM, Oct 16 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has reiterated the coalition’s decision against dissolving the state legislative assemblies of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Penang to focus on helping flood victims.
He said that the decision would allow the state governments to provide relief to the affected victims.
“Our policy is that the state governments are not allowed to use their funds to make preparations for the general election.
“Because of this, PH-governed states would be in violation of the law and guidelines of the Election Commission if they followed the Federal government (and dissolve the state assemblies).
“Therefore, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Penang are entirely focused on how to aid flood victims and how to carry out the plan,” he told the media after the launch of the Wanita PH Commitment and PH GE15 machinery, here yesterday.
On October 5, Anwar stated that three PH-led states will not dissolve their state assemblies should the GE15 be held this year.
