SHAH ALAM, Oct 13 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Hulu Langat until 9pm today.
In a statement issued at 5.15pm today, METMalaysia said that a similar weather condition will also be experienced in Perlis and Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik and Baling).
“Other affected areas include Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta and Kampar), Kelantan (Jeli, Tanah Merah, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu (Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan and Bera) as well as Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu and Jempol).
“Meanwhile in Sarawak, the inclement weather is anticipated to hit Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong (Pusa and Betong) and Sarikei (Pakan and Julau),” the agency said.
The warning by METMalaysia is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour or expected to take place for over an hour.
