SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 — The Disaster Operations Room in the Klang district is now open to the public from today until September 29 as high tides are expected to occur in the area.

In a posting on Twitter via @suk_selangor today, the Selangor State Secretariat Office said that the high tides are expected to reach 5.3 metres (m) and up to 5.4m tomorrow.

“The high tide phenomenon is forecasted to occur on September 27, 28, and 29. The public is advised to be prepared and vigilant of the surrounding areas,” the post read.

The post also shared the contactable hotlines for assistance and the latest updates regarding the high tides.

Several locations in Klang and Kuala Langat facing the possibility of floods are still under control despite the tide rising to 5.3m this morning.

The locations currently being monitored in Klang are Taman Selat Damai, Pandamaran, Taman Telok Gedung Indah, Port Klang and Jeti Pengkalan Nelayan Tok Muda.

Whereas Pantai Kelanang, Pantai Baru Morib, Pantai Morib, Pantai Batu Laut, Pantai Cunang and Jeti Tanjung Sepat in Kuala Langat are among the focus areas.
