SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain, and strong winds warning in Sabak Bernam, which will last until 9am this morning.
In a statement released on Facebook at 7.10am, the agency said similar weather pattern is also expected to hit other states including Penang, Kedah (Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu) and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak).
The agency issues a warning when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over one hour.
Thunderstorm warnings are short-term and valid within six hours after they are issued.
