SHAH ALAM, Aug 9 — The collection of land and plot taxes during the post-Covid-19 pandemic has seen an increase, with RM580 million in revenue as of July, said Selangor Land and Mines Office (PTGS) director Yusri Zakariah.

The amount totals to over 80 per cent of this year's RM620 million revenue target.

"This year's collection is encouraging compared to 2020 and 2021, when we faced the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.

"We hope the momentum of payment throughout Selangor will continue as such until the year's end. The amount of taxes payable will be retained until the end of the period in 2026," he said during the PTGS monthly assembly earlier today.

Yusri also reminded department staff to pay attention to and prioritise any suggestions or complaints submitted by the public.

"Continue interacting faster with social media platforms including email, phone, WhatsApp and Telegram.

"Speedy solutions will be used to measure the performance of efficiency in delivering services to the public," he said.
