SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — The public is welcome to visit the Endemic Visual Art Exhibition at the Shah Alam Gallery, which runs from August 3 until August 24.

Its director Alina Abdullah said the exhibition, which operates on Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm, is only available by booking appointments to do so.

“A total of 40 interesting art pieces contributed by 21 lecturers from Universiti Selangor’s (Unisel) Department of Visual Arts of the Faculty of Communication, Visual Arts and Computing, are featured in the exhibition.

“The pieces revolve around the experiences as well as physical, emotional and mental battles during the Covid-19 pandemic, which influenced the artists in their use of elements and their attempts to preserve memories,” she said in a statement.

Alina added the exhibition will suit art aficionados seeking to explore peaceful surroundings over realistic objects, based on perceptions and intellectuality.

“Therefore, all the art pieces displayed emphasises peaceful features while at the same time hold hidden meanings behind the pieces,” she said.

Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil will officiate the inaugural exhibition, organised by the Shah Alam Gallery in collaboration with the lecturer of Unisel’s Department of Visual Arts, on August 9.
