HULU LANGAT, June 20 — The Selangor government launched the Iltizam Selangor Sihat (ISS) programme yesterday at the Selangor Penyayang roadshow in Taman Kosas, Ampang, with an allocation of RM55.5 million.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the programme is a rebranding of the Peduli Sihat Insurance Programme (Skim Insurance Peduli Sihat or SIPS).

“The state government had increased the targetted reach for ISS to 100,000 participants, with many changes made to eligibility requirements, benefit categories, and card validity term.

“Eligible ISS members can claim benefits totalling RM6,000, which includes RM5,000 in death benefits and RM1,000 in funeral costs,” she said in a speech at the launching ceremony, here yesterday.

Dr Siti Mariah said that the ISS quota for each district was roughly 16,500 recipients and it is still open for applications at the respective community service centres.

She said that to be eligible for the ISS, the applicant must be a Selangor citizen earning less than RM3,000 per month, with priority given to individuals with chronic diseases and families with large households.

“Benefits for death, accidents resulting in disability, severe sickness, and funerals are available to eligible families and individuals.

“Quotas in each state constituency are still available, and we welcome people in the state to apply or recommend chronically ill friends or relatives to apply for this initiative,” he said.
