SHAH ALAM, June 18 — Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat and Sepang districts are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy showers and strong wind until 10pm tonight.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a post on Facebook said the warning was issued if signs indicate that thunderstorms with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are expected to occur over a one-hour duration.
“The thunderstorm warnings are short-term, with each warning valid within six hours after being issued,” the agency posted at 7.55pm today.
MetMalaysia has also forecasted similar weather conditions in Putrajaya, Melaka, Labuan, Kedah (Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik and Baling), Perak (Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron), Negeri Sembilan (Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempol and Tampin), Sarawak: Miri (Miri and Marudi) and Limbang (Limbang) as well as Sabah: Pedalaman (Kuala Penyu and Beaufort).
