MB leads state trade mission to South Korea, reaching out to investors

SHAH ALAM, June 17 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has embarked on a visit to South Korea to continue the state's investment mission after a hiatus of almost two years.

His visit to the country, famous for its halyu K-pop phenomenon and technological advancements, was accompanied by state executive councillor for investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim.

During the visit, Amirudin and Teng managed to meet several companies which expressed interest in invest in Selangor and share in its success.

“We shared with them the success stories of the state government with aerospace companies, gaming software companies as well as asset management giants in water, solar energy and several more.

“Thank you very much to the Malaysian Embassy and Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) Seoul. Hopefully, this investment mission will be able to boost the investment and Selangor-Korea cooperation in the future,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Amirudin also visited the K-water Seongnam water treatment plant (WTP) which supplies clean water to Seongnam and the surrounding area using the latest technology that is sustainable and capable of generating its own energy.

He added the visit will continue with more investment promotion activities with petroleum companies as well as Korean food and beverage giants.
