KLANG, June 14 — Veteran comedian Abdul Hamid Ab Rahman, popularly known as Hamid Gurkha, died today of old age.
He was 89.
Her daughter, NorAzian, 53, when met at her house in Taman Sri Andalas here, said her father breathed his last at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) Hospital at 2.19pm.
“My father’s health has been deteriorating since Aidilfitri and had worsened last Thursday when he was admitted to HTAR and the doctor said there was a lung infection,” she said.
Hamid leaves behind a wife, Timah Hamid, 80, six children, 32 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest at the Kota Raja Mosque cemetery after the Isyak prayers tonight.
