Three Mokhtar Dahari Academy players to undergo probationary training with European clubs

SHAH ALAM, June 1 — Three young players from the Mokhtar Dahari Academy (AMD) stand a chance at playing for clubs in Europe after being sent for training with two clubs.

AMD said those among the best players of the 2005 generation will undergo probationary training with FC Annecy in France and Racing FC in Luxembourg from June 2 to June 19.

"Of the three players, two of them including Mohammad Haykal Danish and Rohisham Haikal played in the under-13 squad for Paris Saint Germain during the Giuseppe Augello Memorial International Championships V in Rome, Italy, in 2018.

"The other player, Muhammad Abu Khalil, was AMD President's Cup squad key player who is currently ranked first in the team standings for the President’s Cup competition," it said in a Facebook post.

AMD added that all three players departed for France yesterday, accompanied by the Technical Director of the National Development Training Program Saad Ichalalene and AMD under-17 coach Amarul Naza Mohamad.

"The programme is aimed at increasing the marketability of players after they graduate from AMD, and has been delayed for nearly two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will continue for all generations at AMD," it said.
