SHAH ALAM, May 25 — Heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are anticipated for the district of Hulu Selangor later tonight.
Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a statement released at 9pm said the inclement weather will last until 1am tomorrow morning.
The agency said other states and locations which are expected to undergo strong weather include Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Yan and Kuala Muda, Perak (Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Kelantan (Gua Musang) and Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong and Temerloh).
Similar bad weather is also expected in Sarawak: Sri Aman (Lubok Antu), Kapit (Bukit Mabong and Belaga), Miri (Telang Usan) and Limbang and Sabah: (Pedalaman (Sipitang, Tenom, Nabawan and Keningau).
The agency issues a warning when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.
Thunderstorm warnings are short-term and are valid within six hours after it was issued.
