SHAH ALAM, May 1 — The Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Selangor until 4pm today.
In a statement issued at 12.30pm, MetMalaysia said that a similar weather condition will also be experienced in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and seven other states namely Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, and Johor.
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour or expected to take place for over an hour.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” the statement read.
