SHAH ALAM, April 20 — Two districts in Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangorare expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy showers and strong wind until 10am today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a post on Facebook said the warning was issued if signs indicate that thunderstorms with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are expected to occur over a one-hour duration.
“The thunderstorm warnings are short-term, with each warning valid within six hours after being issued,” the agency said in the warning issued at 6.45am today.
MetMalaysia has also forecasted similar weather condition for the whole of Melaka and parts of Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Bachok and Pasir Puteh), Terengganu (Besut and Setiu) and Sabah: Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat (Kudat).
