SHAH ALAM, April 17 — Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor districts are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy showers and strong wind until 9pm tonight.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a post on Facebook said the warning was issued if signs indicate that thunderstorms with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are expected to occur over a one-hour duration.
“The thunderstorm warnings are short-term, with each warning valid within six hours after being issued,” the agency posted at 6pm today.
MetMalaysia has also forecasted similar weather conditions for the whole of Perlis and Penang as well as parts of Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), Kelantan (Jeli and Kuala Krai) and Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Jerantut, Temerloh, Bera and Rompin).
The agency also expected similar bad weather to take place in parts Negeri Sembilan (Seremban), Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru), Sarawak: Kuching (Kuching), Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong (Pusa and Betong), Sarikei (Pakan), Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong) and Limbang (Limbang).
