SHAH ALAM, April 16 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecasted thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds will affect the districts of Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor dan Hulu Langat this evening.
In a Facebook post, MetMalaysia said the bad weather is expected to last until 7pm today.
The agency also forecasted similar weather for Kedah (Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Penang, Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak), Kelantan (Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang).
Other states expected to experience similar bad weather are Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah and Jempol), Johor (Mersing and Kota Tinggi), Sarawak (Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit) and Sabah in Tawau.
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” said MetMalaysia.
The warning was issued at 3.50pm today.
