JAKARTA, April 16 — The Malaysian embassy in Kuningan here has introduced the 24/7 consular helpline for those in need of assistance, said Charge d’ Affairs Adlan Mohd Shaffieq.
The helpline will be useful as cross border movement will increase as Malaysia and Indonesia continue to find ways to facilitate travel between both sides as they move towards the Covid-19 endemic phase.
“We have taken several steps including improving the telephony services, we now have a 24 hour duty officer.
“This will not only facilitate Malaysians but also Indonesians who seek consular assistance,” said Adlan during the iftar and tarawih function on Friday night.
The helpline number after office hours is +62 813 8081 3036.
Meanwhile at the iftar, about 200 Malaysians attended the function held for the first time after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19-pandemic.
“Thank you for inviting me and my family, happy to meet again in a jovial atmosphere,” said Ikhwan Fadhli who works as the operations director of PT Errita Pharma in Bandung.
Sales and marketing director of PT Prima Agro Mandiri, Azry Jamlus said the event organised by the embassy is the testament of the embassy’s concern over Malaysians in Indonesia and it provides the opportunity for the attendees to get to know the new embassy officials.
