SHAH ALAM, April 6 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms and heavy showers in three Selangor districts until 12 noon today.
In a Facebook post, MetMalaysia said the affected areas include Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor
Similarly, the warning was also issued for Melaka and several districts within Perak (Muallim), Kelantan (Tumpat, Kota Bharu, Bachok and Pasir Puteh), Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu and Marang).
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” said MetMalaysia.
The warning was issued at 8.45am today.
