SHAH ALAM, April 2 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms and heavy showers in three Selangor districts until 12 noon today.
In a Facebook post, MetMalaysia said the affected areas include Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang.
Similarly, the warning was also issued for Melaka and several districts within Perak (Manjung, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak), Negeri Sembilan (Port Dickson), Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat and Pontian), Sabah: Tawau (Tawau, Kunak and Lahad Datu) and Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan).
“The warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” said MetMalaysia.
The warning was issued at 8.50am today.
